Red Fire & Safety Services supply & service all types of Evac Chairs & provide training in their correct use.

An Evacuation Chair is a device manufactured for a smooth descent on stairways

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, requires that all people using the building be provided with adequate means of escape in case of fire.

This includes a suitable escape plan for mobility impaired persons.

Anyone permitted into a building must be safely evacuated in the event of an emergency without the dependence of the emergency services.

There is a legal requirement for employers and service providers to ensure the safe evacuation of mobility impaired persons and Disability Discrimination legislation places stringent demands on every organisation to meet its Duty of Care.

Red Fire Evac Chair Training

Under current legislation, it is the responsibility of the employer or building operator to ensure that their business complies with fire safety, health and safety and equal opportunity requirements.

All people using a building must be provided with adequate means of escape in case of fire or any emergency.

This includes a suitable escape plan for mobility impaired persons.

Anyone permitted into a building must be safely evacuated in the event of an emergency without the dependence of the emergency services.

The use of lifts in an emergency is usually not permitted and the escape route will therefore be over stairs.

To help clients meet this legal requirement Red Fire offers training for specific staff.

The course is designed to train key members of staff who have been given responsibility by their employer to assist in the evacuation of the mobility impaired within their premises

For complete safety we advise two people are present at all time to assist and open doors on the exit routes.

We provide the course at your premises.

We offer theoretical and Practical training including the following topics:
